Shapiro Field House
Shapiro Field House spans 50,000 square feet and features a 200-meter indoor running track, four tennis courts and a climbing wall. It is home to the Norwich tennis team. The multipurpose building opened in 1987 and is used by all spring athletic teams for early season practices and as a venue for Commencement, concerts, and other university functions. The Norwich Corps of Cadets and ROTC conduct physical training in Shapiro.

Join us for our Fall 2024 Convocation ceremony on Wednesday, August 28th, 2024 starting at 1:30 p.m. in Shapiro Field House. Convocation marks the beginning of a new academic year and provides an opportunity for us to gather as a community to celebrate our shared commitment to excellence in education, recognize achievements, and look forward to the opportunities and challenges ahead.
Corps members will receive special processional and seating instructions from the Office of the Commandant.
All classes and labs are canceled on the afternoon of August 28th and student attendance is strongly encouraged.
Academic Awardees have been notified of their awards via email by the Office of the Provost and their attendance has been requested.
Your presence and participation are essential as we embark on this new academic year together. We look forward to celebrating with you and setting the stage for a successful year ahead.
