About

Kristin Hayes joined the faculty in Norwich University’s Senator Patrick Leahy School of Cybersecurity & Advanced Computing in 2022. Prior to this role, Professor Hayes worked for the State of Vermont as an Information Security Analyst in the Agency of Digital Services.

In her time working in state government, she supported regulatory compliance and information security efforts to protect citizens data across the state of Vermont.

Professor Hayes holds both an undergraduate and graduate degree in cybersecurity from Norwich University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity with a concentration in Information Warfare, and a Master of Science in Cybersecurity with a concentration in Cyber Law and International Perspectives on Cyberspace. She also holds a CompTIA Security+ certification and is a member of the Upsilon Pi Epsilon honor society of Norwich University.

Professor Hayes is passionate about student involvement and community outreach. In 2021, she started the Norwich University Women in Cybersecurity club on campus. Additionally, she is an active leader in K-12 cybersecurity outreach at local schools. She hopes to inspire Vermont’s young people to help fill critically required roles in cybersecurity.
