  Shapiro Field House spans 50,000 square feet and features a 200-meter indoor running track, four tennis courts and a climbing wall. It is home to the Norwich tennis team. The multipurpose building opened in 1987 and is used by all spring athletic teams for early season practices and as a venue for Commencement, concerts, and other university functions. The Norwich Corps of Cadets and ROTC conduct physical training in Shapiro.

Norwich University will celebrate Commencement Weekend in Shapiro Field House on the Northfield, Vermont campus.

Graduates from both bachelor’s and master’s programs from residential and online will be celebrated, along with ROTC Joint Commissioning.

The following are the scheduled times and locations for Commissioning 2024:

Reserve Officer Training Corps Commissioning	3:00 p.m.	Shapiro Field House (doors open at 2:00 p.m.)
AFROTC Commissioning	4:30 p.m.	Mack Hall Auditorium
AROTC Commissioning	4:30 p.m.	Shapiro Field House
NROTC Commissioning	4:30 p.m.	Plumley Armory
Platoon Leaders Course Commissioning	4:30 p.m.	White Chapel
Commissioning Photos		Directly following individual Commissioning

Tickets for commencement and commissioning will become available in the beginning of March. Graduates will receive ticketing information via email. Ticket information will also be posted on the Commencement and Commissioning 2024 website.
