This engaging discussion will highlight General Broadmeadow’s distinguished 37-year Marine Corps career, encompassing leadership in combat zones, humanitarian missions, and strategic command roles around the world.
The Sullivan Museum and History Center proudly commemorates the 250th birthday of the United States Marine Corps with a special Lunch & Learn conversation featuring LtGen John Broadmeadow, USMC (Ret.) ‘83, 25th President of Norwich University, and Mrs. Karen Broadmeadow ‘83, and moderated by BG William McCollough ’91, VSM Col (ret), USMC. This engaging discussion will highlight General Broadmeadow’s distinguished 37-year Marine Corps career, encompassing leadership in combat zones, humanitarian missions, and strategic command roles around the world.
General Broadmeadow will reflect on his journey from Norwich to the highest levels of Marine Corps leadership — including his service as Director of the Marine Corps Staff at the Pentagon and Deputy Commander of the U.S. Transportation Command — while Mrs. Broadmeadow will share her experiences of military family life, community advocacy, and her own extraordinary service recognized by the Department of the Navy’s Distinguished Public Service Award. Together, they offer a deeply personal look at leadership, partnership, and service rooted in the Norwich tradition of the citizen-soldier.
The day’s events begin with the Marine Corps Cake Cutting Ceremony at 11:00 a.m., celebrating the 250th birthday of the USMC, followed by a viewing of the Sullivan Museum’s current exhibition, The U.S. Marine Corps Air-Ground Team: Art from the Collection of the National Museum of the Marine Corps “On the Road,” sponsored by the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation.
