Lucia Frezza

Lucia came to Norwich with a curiosity for cybersecurity, but by stepping out of her comfort zone, she discovered challenge, growth, and a clear sense of purpose. She didn’t have all the answers, just the drive to try.
In the quiet town of Wintersville, Ohio, Lucia Frezza '25 was drawn to the mysteries of the digital world. Using technology was just the start. She wanted to know how it all worked, to push boundaries, and to use her cybersecurity skills to protect others. Cybersecurity programs are everywhere, but Norwich checked every box. Where else could she get hands-on training from experts who’ve lived the work, all within a campus shaped by service, purpose, and perseverance?
Whether it was the pull of the mountains or the influence of her uniformed peers, Lucia arrived at Norwich ready for a challenge. She joined the Women in Cybersecurity chapter, eager to ask bold questions and connect with like-minded peers. As her skills grew, so did her confidence. She soon became a distinguished member of the Cyber Leader Development Program, where she helped deploy a specialized learning environment that boosted collaboration, research, and student success.
That momentum led to the peak of Lucia’s Norwich journey. She was named a 2024 Richard S. Schultz ’60 Symposium Fellow for research on how cyber attackers twist information to shape reality. Her topic? A shadowy group called Anonymous Sudan. She stood before scholars and national experts, explaining why our perception of truth online may be one of our greatest vulnerabilities.
Lucia’s journey at Norwich gave her the challenges to grow, the opportunities to lead, and the support to never face it alone.
