About
Barış Ülker received his Ph.D. in Sociology and Social Anthropology from the Central European University in 2012. He was a visiting scholar at Humboldt University, Howard University, Columbia University, and the Center for Metropolitan Studies at the Technical University of Berlin throughout his studies. Currently, he is the Head of the Research Institute at Berlin International University of Applied Sciences. Baris Ülker’s research was supported by the German Research Foundation, German Academic Exchange Service, Max Planck Institute, Ernst Reuter Archives Foundation, and Vienna Science and Technology Fund. Ülker’s research interests include Governmental Subjectivities, Anthropology of the State, Colonial and Post-Colonial Relations, Urban Spatial Restructuring, and Transnational Migration.
