Danny Sagan

About
Danny Sagan creates buildings, furniture, sculpture and drawings. Sagan is interested in making work that speaks of time and place while acknowledging the constraints of climate, context, and the need for more efficient buildings. Together with Alisa Dworsky, Sagan co-founded DS Architects which designs zero-net-energy houses, small commercial projects, and furniture.
The work of DS Architects has received awards for energy efficiency and design. Sagan and Dworsky practiced as design/builders from 1989-1999. They currently collaborate on art installations and furniture as well as buildings. Sagan has also written on the history design/build and design/build pedagogy. Sagan's current research focus is on the revival or Ornament and Decarbonization.
