About
Lieutenant Jacob M. Kruchoski was assigned as the Nuclear Propulsion Officer at Norwich University in February 2024. He teaches Introduction to Naval Ship Systems I & II and mentors midshipmen interested in the Nuclear community.
Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Lieutenant Kruchoski spent most of his childhood in the Fox Valley. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering in May 2019. Lieutenant Kruchoski received his commission from Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island, in September 2019 as a Submarine Officer in Training.
He then reported to Naval Nuclear Power Training Command and Nuclear Power Training Unit in Goose Creek, South Carolina, graduating with distinction. Upon completing his training, he was assigned to the USS Scranton (SSN 756), a Los Angeles-class Fast Attack Submarine, where he served from May 2021 to February 2024 as the Electrical Assistant, Assistant Operations Officer, and Anti-Terrorism Officer. Lieutenant Kruchoski currently resides in Barre, VT, with his wife and dog.
