About
Miri Kim, Ph.D., completed her B.A. in history at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, and her doctorate in history at the University of California, Irvine. Her research in military and institutional history focuses on Northeast China in the Republican Period. At Norwich, she teaches wide-ranging introductory courses in world history and East Asian history, history courses on modern China and Japan, and specialized courses, such as War and Image in Modern China.
Kim is the faculty adviser to NUMUN, the Model United Nations Club at Norwich, leading students to conferences, such as the Harvard National Model United Nations Conference. She is also active in advising students in independent research and honors projects and enjoys volunteering for various campus events, such as the annual clothing drive and the First LEGO League competition, a robotics tournament for middle school students.
