Ron Merolli, JD is a lecturer in both the School of Business and Management and the School of Architecture & Art. After receiving his JD from Catholic University Law School in 1974, he was a tax specialist at the IRS National Office in Washington DC. and worked for several insurance and consulting firms before spending over 20 years at National Life Group in Montpelier, Vermont as the Director of Advanced Sales. He has taught at Norwich in an Adjunct role since 2014.

Ron has extensive experience in taxation, benefits and business issues in general. He teaches taxation, financial literacy and other undergraduate courses as needed plus Professional Responsibility to Graduate Students in the School of Architecture.

He has lectured at the Vermont Tax Seminar, the pension school sponsored by the Insurance Marketing Institute of Purdue University (1983-1999) and Ohio State Law School’s Creative Pensions Seminar (1990-2005 and 2008). He has testified four times before Congress on taxation issues, has published articles, and has been quoted in national publications. In 1998, 2002, and 2006 he was appointed by Senators Trent Lott, Thomas Daschle, and Harry Reid as a delegate to the joint White House and Congress-sponsored National Summit on Retirement Savings in Washington, D.C.

He is a member of the Small Business Council of America (SBCA) where he serves on their Board of Directors and for many years he was the National Life representative on the Pension Committee of the American Council of Life Insurers.
