The Richard W. Schneider Coast Guard Scholarship

From our country’s beginnings, the U.S. Coast Guard has defended ports against foreign intruders and saved lives on navigable waters.

The RADM Richard W. Schneider Coast Guard Scholarship, established by members of Norwich’s Class of 1968, is an endowed scholarship named for retired U.S. Coast Guard Rear Adm. Richard W. Schneider, who in his 28-year Norwich University presidency hailed scholarship and national service.

The Schneider Coast Guard Scholarship, established in 2021, will be awarded annually to one or more sophomores, juniors or seniors who have worked toward a U.S. Coast Guard career (by joining the Coast Guard Reserve or interning at a Coast Guard facility), are in good academic standing and demonstrate financial need. The scholarships are renewable if students continue to meet these criteria.
