Richard W. Schneider Coast Guard Scholarship

From our country’s beginnings, the U.S. Coast Guard has defended ports against foreign intruders and saved lives on navigable waters. The Rear Admiral (RADM) Richard W. Schneider Coast Guard Scholarship, established by members of Norwich’s Class of 1968, is an endowed scholarship named for retired U.S. Coast Guard Rear Adm. Richard W. Schneider, who in his 28-year Norwich University presidency hailed scholarship and national service.

The scholarship, established in 2021, will be awarded annually to one or more sophomores, juniors, or seniors who have worked toward a U.S. Coast Guard career by joining the Coast Guard Reserve or interning at a Coast Guard facility, are in good academic standing, and demonstrate financial need. The scholarship is renewable if the student recipient continues to meet the criteria.
