Dylan Curry

Norwich University men’s lacrosse, a team long recognized as one of the most competitive in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), is led by Dylan Curry, the eighth head coach in program history.

Curry was appointed in July 2025, succeeding longtime coach Neal Anderson, who stepped down after 17 successful seasons that included three GNAC Championships and multiple NCAA Tournament appearances.
Curry arrives in Northfield with more than a decade of experience as a player and coach, most recently serving as defensive coordinator at NCAA Division II Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. His appointment marks a new chapter for Cadet lacrosse, a program defined by tradition and consistent conference success.

Building a Defensive Identity

During his two years at Embry-Riddle, Curry helped guide the Eagles to unprecedented achievements. The 2025 campaign produced a 9-7 record, the program’s first winning season in history, as well as its first Sunshine State Conference (SSC) playoff appearance and victory.

Curry’s defensive units set program records for goals against average, a testament to his system-driven approach. That year also featured wins over three nationally ranked opponents and the development of three All-SSC honorees. His leadership established a defensive identity that became the foundation for Embry-Riddle’s rise within one of the most competitive conferences in Division II lacrosse.

Experience Across Every Level

Originally from Wilmette, Illinois, Curry’s coaching path has included roles at the collegiate, high school, and club levels. Before his time in Florida, he served on the coaching staffs at Keene State College, Vermont State University, Castleton, and Middletown North High School, while also contributing as a club coach with United Lacrosse.

At Keene State, Curry directed a defensive unit that finished in the top two in the Little East Conference in 2023 and advanced to the league semifinals. His holistic coaching responsibilities across different programs have included work with goalies, faceoff specialists, recruiting coordination, budget oversight, and detailed game planning.

This breadth of experience has given Curry a versatile understanding of the game and a proven ability to adapt systems to fit the strengths of his athletes.

A Player’s Perspective

As a student-athlete, Curry was part of the inaugural recruiting class at Monmouth University, where he competed as a defenseman. He contributed to the Hawks’ historic 2017 MAAC Championship team, which earned the program’s first-ever berth in the NCAA Tournament.

That experience of building a program from its foundation shaped Curry’s outlook as a coach. He understands firsthand the work required to develop athletes, establish culture, and achieve breakthrough results.

Curry earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Monmouth and went on to complete an MBA with a concentration in analytics from Vermont State University, Castleton, where he began his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant.

Known for his preparation and discipline, Curry emphasizes defense-first systems and the importance of detailed scouting. He has built a reputation as a values-driven coach and mentor, committed to developing student-athletes both on and off the field.

As he steps into the head coaching role at Norwich, Curry inherits a program with a rich legacy. The Cadets have consistently ranked among the GNAC’s dominant teams, earning championships and NCAA appearances under Anderson’s leadership. With Curry now at the helm, the program is poised to carry forward that tradition while integrating his culture of accountability and competitiveness.
