About
C. Dart Thalman formerly served as director of the International Studies Program and interim director of the International Office at Norwich.
He received his B.A. in political science and certificate in international relations at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, and his M.A., MALD, and Ph.D. at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. His Ph.D. studies focused on international environmental policy, in particular less-developed countries and the issue of environment and development.
Professor Thalman joined the Norwich University faculty in 2001.
His recent courses include, International Studies Senior Seminar, U.S. Security Policy & the Private Sector (which brings students to Washington, D.C., during Spring Break), American Politics, Revolution & Forces of Change, and European Politics.
He lives in a renovated one-room schoolhouse in Peacham, Vt., and currently serves on several community organizations in his hometown, including the Peacham Historical Association and Peacham Community Housing.
His interests include outdoor sports (skiing, cycling, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding), music (classical and jazz), and nature photography. He is a dual citizen of the U.S.A. and Switzerland.
