Gina Logan

Gina Logan has worked as a learning specialist since 1980 in Norwich University's Academic Achievement Center, tutoring students in the social sciences and humanities. She has a keen interest in developmental writing and reading issues and in helping students at all levels become more effective learners.

In 1987, she joined the faculty of the Department of English, where she teaches English Composition and Literature I and II, World Literature I and II, Children’s Literature, American Literature Survey II, and Creative Writing. Her current academic research focuses on the evolution of the spy novel and secret agent films and television programs in the U.K. and U.S., particularly as a response to the Cold War and subsequent geopolitical change.

She earned an MFA in Writing from the Vermont College of Fine Arts, where her critical thesis, The Last American Transcendentalist, focused on the fiction of Don Robertson. The creative portion of her thesis is a collection of short fiction, Like Streams in the Desert.

The author of the historical novel The Autobiography of Miss Huckleberry Finn, she is also working on a family-saga novel set in a working-class neighborhood in Philadelphia between 1880 and 1920, a Vermont mystery series set in the years immediately following World War II, a science-fiction novella, and a poetry chapbook. Her poems have been featured in PoemCity (Montpelier, Vt.) since 2013 and in PoemTown (Randolph, Vt.) since 2015.
