Success That Goes Beyond the Ice
He doesn’t just coach the game, he coaches people. He believes success isn’t just measured in goals or wins, but it’s measured in personal growth, academic achievement, and lifelong impact. He creates a supportive, empowering team environment where players feel valued, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential. While truly prioritizing academics, he pushes student-athletes to strive for excellence in the classroom, preparing them not just to win games, but to lead successful lives after graduation.
Big Time Experience. Big Time Results.
Coach Simpson knows what it takes to compete at the highest level of NCAA hockey. At Brown University, he helped the team to their best start in 30 years. He recruited Jade Iginla, daughter of NHL Hall of Famer Jarome Iginla, who went on to earn ECAC Co-Rookie of the Year. Nine of the players he mentored captured All-Conference honors.
At Colby College, he helped guide the Mules to their best-ever conference finish and recruited two-time All-American Meg Rittenhouse. With experience at RIT, Providence College, and Hockey Canada, Simpson has built a successful coaching resume that spans every level of the game. He has quickly become one of the most respected coaches in NCAA women’s hockey.
