Jim enjoys helping students find and prepare for internships, and he tries to inspire them to learn new career-readiness skills that they will use throughout their lifetime. To Norwich, he brings 20+ years of experience working as a practitioner and administrator in education and human services. He received his bachelor’s degree in English from Washington State University and his master’s in teaching from the University of Alaska. Jim works with faculty and students to fine-tune Norwich’s experiential learning process, making it unique to each academic department within the university. He coaches students to research their future careers, clarify their goals, and seize every opportunity to exceed their employer's expectations. In his free time, Jim likes to run, do home improvement projects, and go bargain hunting at yard sales in the summer. He also likes to spend time playing frisbee with his dog and his two grandchildren.
