Geospatial Intelligence Certificate

Norwich University's Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Certificate teaches students to use imagery, maps, location-based data, and analysis to understand what is happening, where it is happening, and why it matters. GEOINT supports informed decision-making across national security, disaster response, infrastructure, business, cybersecurity, and a growing range of other fields.

This United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) accredited certificate gives students across majors the opportunity to develop this distinctive capability alongside their primary field of study.

What you'll learn

The GEOINT certificate introduces students to location-based analysis and the use of geospatial information to examine complex problems. Coursework draws from geography, imagery analysis, security studies, data and information design, and related disciplines, giving students opportunities to work with geospatial data and satellite imagery and apply GEOINT methods to real-world questions.

Add GEOINT to your major

The GEOINT certificate is designed to complement a student's undergraduate major rather than replace it. Students from across Norwich can develop geospatial analysis skills applicable to fields ranging from cybersecurity, engineering, and environmental science to criminal justice, international studies, business, and national security.

For students pursuing careers in intelligence or analytical fields, the certificate provides focused preparation in geospatial observation, analysis, and communication. For students in other disciplines, GEOINT provides another way to interpret location-based information, identify patterns and relationships, and communicate evidence for decision-making.

Norwich University's Geospatial Intelligence Certificate is accredited by the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) through August 2030. USGIF accreditation recognizes academic programs that meet established standards for GEOINT education and competencies.
