CPT Dustin Morrell

Capt. Dustin T. Morrell was born in Chilliwack, British Columbia, in 1988. His family immigrated to the United States in 1993, where he lived in Bend, Oregon. In June 2014, Capt. Morrell graduated from Oregon State University – Cascades with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

Capt. Morrell’s military service began in 2006 as a CBRN specialist. After completing CBRN AIT, he was assigned to the 31st Chemical Company, 2d Chemical Battalion, on Fort Hood, Texas. Capt. Morrell exited the service in 2010 as a sergeant. He reenlisted in 2016 to attend Officer Candidate School and was commissioned in 2017. In 2017, Capt. Morrell was assigned as the battalion CBRN officer to the 4th Battalion, 23d Infantry Regiment, 2d Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT), on Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), Washington. In 2019, Capt. Morrell was given the opportunity to serve as a mounted CBRN reconnaissance platoon leader and executive officer for 45th CBRN Company, 110th CBRN Battalion, on JBLM. Capt. Morrell attended the CBRN Captains Career Course in 2022 and was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division Sustainment Brigade as the brigade CBRN officer. Capt. Morrell served as the commander for Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 553d Division Sustainment Support Battalion, from 2024 to 2026.
