About
Staff Sgt. Justin R. Williams is a native of Pontiac, Michigan. He enlisted in the United States Army on Feb. 18, 2020, and attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He later qualified as a 42A human resources specialist.
Staff Sgt. Williams began his military career with the 160th Strategic Signal Brigade at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, where he served as a human resources specialist.
Following his assignment in Kuwait, Staff Sgt. Williams served at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, in several human resources positions with the 3rd Battalion, 6th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, and the 4th Battalion, 3rd Air Defense Artillery Regiment. His duties included human resources specialist, assistant human resources sergeant, and human resources sergeant. While assigned to 4-3 ADA, he completed an operational tour in the United Arab Emirates.
In 2023, Staff Sgt. Williams was assigned to Fort Bliss, Texas, where he served as a human resources sergeant. He later joined the 1st Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment, serving as a senior human resources sergeant. During this assignment, he completed operational tours in Poland and Germany in 2025.
In September 2026, Staff Sgt. Williams began his current assignment with the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont. He brings extensive human resources, operational, and leadership experience to the program.
Staff Sgt. Williams holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Ferris State University. His military education includes the Basic Leader Course, Equal Opportunity Leader Course, DART training, Combat Lifesaver Course, and Fiber Optic Theory and Maintenance Technician Course.
Staff Sgt. Williams’s awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal (four awards), Army Achievement Medal (three awards), Army Good Conduct Medal (two awards), Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and two Certificates of Achievement.
