Arrivals are complete, and your students have begun or are continuing their Norwich journey. Ensuring they each get the most out of their experience is the primary mission of the Student Affairs’ and Commandant’s Staff. As our partners in this task, please never hesitate to communicate with me or my team. Together, we can help our students achieve their goals.

Your Monthly Checklist

Ensure you're ready for arrival day with our easy Start-Ready program! We help you every step of the way to make sure your first day of college goes smoothly. Check out what you can expect each month leading up to your arrival to Norwich.

  • Placement assessments open this month. Take the math placement assessment. It's required for all (non-transfer) incoming students. The language placement assessment is only required if you're taking a language course at Norwich.
  • If you filed the FAFSA, you'll receive your financial aid package soon. Check your email for any requests from our financial aid team to help complete your financial aid package. Your enrollment advisor will be available to review your package with you so you can fully understand what's being offered.
  • Now is the time to schedule your physical with your primary care doctor. Your physical must be dated after March 1, 2025, and your paperwork is due by July 15, 2025.
  • Begin your Housing this month. These forms will help match you with a roommate who's a good fit for you. 
  • Register for our accepted student open house, NU101. This event is in early April. It highlights all the amazing things Norwich has to offer an allows you to meet your future classmates!
  • Your registration team will begin building your fall class schedule for you. Make sure your placement exams are completed!
  • Visit Norwich for NU101, our accepted student open house!
  • You're required to have medical insurance as a student. If you're staying on your parents' medical insurance, complete the University's insurance waiver form this month.
  • Your student bill will be posted in June. This is the perfect time to add anyone helping with your bill as an authorized user on your account.
  • June is also when you can set up a Payment Plan, with the first payment due in July.
  • Make sure you have reviewed the packing list for your lifestyle. Start gathering everything so you are not stressed when it's time to move in!
  • Fall tuition and fees are due in August.
  • Arrival Days are coming up! Check your application portal for your assigned arrival day and time. Depending on your schedule, this could start as early as the second week of August. Keep this in mind when planning family trips.

Student Sendoffs

Connect with other members of the Norwich family who live in your area to learn more about the Norwich experience. 
Each year, Norwich Clubs across the country coordinate Student Sendoff events for incoming first-years, transfers, returning, and graduate students as well as parents. Ranging from backyard barbecues to clambakes, these social gatherings are a great opportunity to meet and ask questions of current students, parents, and alumni.
